The concept of Trolley Tracker™ was first developed in the early 1990’s by Chris Ford, Managing Director of Trolley Services Australia. At the end of the three-month pilot program at Jesmond in New South Wales only one supermarket trolley was unaccounted for. Based on these results Trolley Tracker™ expanded over the next two decades to cover major retailers nationwide.
In 2015 Trolley Tracker’s™ popularity continues to grow, using the most up-to-date technology to adapt to emerging digital needs. The growing popularity of smart phones and mobile devices has seen newly developed IOS and Android mobile apps for Trolley Tracker™, plus unique online services making it easy for council officers to report trolleys.
Since 1994, Trolley Tracker™ has taken over 2 million reports for almost 3 million lost trolleys and has given away over $500,000 in prizes to vigilant members of the public who've taken the time to report to Trolley Tracker.
